Will's (First) First Day Of Preschool

This was Will's first year to go to preschool two days a week. It is hard to believe that it is already time to start this phase with him.  Time is flying.

With Will I have learned that some things don't always go as I expect. Good life lesson for us all. :) So my tradition of the cute posed "first day" pictures out on the porch by yourself, with Mommy, with Daddy, showing off backpack, etc., had to have a little shift in expectation management.

This is what we got.
Now to be honest, I do have about 10 pictures. But the rest pretty much look like this. Keeping it real.
Sweet boy wanted nothing to do with his backpack and does not like to be confined. And he really doesn't like to be outside NOT playing. Hopefully we will find a compromise in time for the "last day" pictures in May.

Will had a hard time going into class the first few days. Not because he was sad I was leaving, but because he wanted to play on the big slide right outside his classroom. It's tough being 2 years old sometimes.  But by Day 4, Happy Will made his entrance into class.

I know this is going to be a great year for Will. Amazing that by the end of this year, he will already be 3! I'm thankful for his super sweet teachers, who seem to have incredible patience, and a school that I know is surrounding him with lots of learning and love every time he is there.

Misc. July

The next summer month of random pictures and videos including Will's fun with the parachute, the toy adventures of bugs and cars in Tate's room, the baptisms of my niece & nephew, introducing Will to Thomas, Friday Night Fun, some singing, more playing, and our 24-hour getaway. July was fun!
I LOVE that there is so much history with the train set we introduced Will to. It was given to my nephew, Trip, 13 years ago for his 2nd birthday. He was early on the Thomas The Train bandwagon and absolutely crazy about all things trains or Thomas. So these tracks have already seen some serious miles before it was ever given to Tate at 2 and now to Will at 2. And the lovefest began almost immediately. The first thing he asks for each morning is to "Choo-Choo????"

We were so thrilled to see Trip & Mary Tish baptized at their church and are so proud of the young adults they are becoming.

24 hours away in Dallas. Sleeping in late, eating several meals with no kids menus, lots of conversation along with lots of quiet, a super fun musical production, all on the same day that 16 years earlier Wade & I had our first date. Kind of funny the difference in those two days so many years apart. I wouldn't change a thing and am so thankful that we still enjoy being with each other. Love this guy through it all...the good, the bad, the ugly, and the wonderful!

Found in Tate's room: some kind of animal sacrifice or the funeral possession of a bug couple. Not sure.

Misc. June

This is the closest I'm ever going to get to a scrapbook or photo album, so I'm trying to remember to capture and document the little things as well. Hence the misc. post about June.

The month was filled with lots of swimming, Mallory's 6th birthday party, going to the lake as much as possible before the heat index would turn to 138 degrees, seeing cousins, family bowling (and the appearance of a famous bowling jacket), and lots of summer fun.
